Health Problems, Homelessness, Domestic Violence, Drunkenness, Lack of resources to gain an Education / Employment, Lack of basic life essentials such as access to water, electricity, internet, homes in disrepair or have some basic home renovations needed and unable to afford to have their home repaired, lacking transport or the opportunity to gain employment or start their own business.

We have seen people with skills and talent that could be used to gain employment and income but lack the finances and resources to start. Too far away from basic amenities, or too far away from metro city / suburbs areas, Reading and writing difficulties, and the list goes on.

Time and time again in years past we have approached many various different “humanitarian Organisations” and raised the concerns of these and other issues many people are facing, however time and time again we keep hearing, we do not do that, we do not focus on them things, or that is a really good idea to help people and will help many people but its not something we do. Time and time again different organisations do not go directly to the people who are in need and directly go and assist them in the areas they are in need of. 

This is where One Red Hill / Word On Wheels is different.

We have seen the carnage that life has thrown at many people. Seen where a little helping hand in a few different key areas could help people gain an education, gain employment / start their own businesses, give people self worth, ability to repair and improve their homes that are falling apart in different ways.

Families and children lacking basic reading and writing skills because nobody in their area has the reading / writing skills, or lack the ability / resources to educate the children.

You ever seen a family who’s water supply is a 44 gallon drum only, and only wen it rains and the rustic 44 gallon drum catchs water, then that is their drinking and washing water ? We have, and although far from town and without any funds, they do not have access to fresh water. With a few thousand dollars a water tank could be purchased for them, and a secure base where to put their water tank and a water tank and plumbing and water catchment can be given to them changing their lives for the better. 

Provide funds to create jobs and assist people who have home repair needs such as people who are always living in darkness because of a power failure in their homes they are unable to afford to get repaired. Other issues is people with homes with rotting floor boards that need repair.

One parent needing to escape with their children from their partner with nothing but the clothes they are wearing due to domestic violence and drunkenness.

Children unable to get education due to financial restraints or lack of school in their area / in the area where they live there is not anyone who has the skillset needed to give the children an education / lack the resources needed to educate their children / families.

The list goes on and on. People within our community who silently have great needs, and nobody is hearing their silent calls for help.

This is where Word On Wheels / One Red Hill is out to make a difference. Like the story of the starfish, we can not help everyone, but we can help some people with your assistance and support.

This is why we started One Red Hill . Com online store to raise funds to assist people like these and others within various communities like as mentioned above.

This is why we started the weekly markets to raise awareness of our online store and to bring various different items, Brand New items, Antiques, Toys, Tools, Books, and many many other things to bring to market to have a stall and try to raise funds to assist those people who are in need.

We do hope you like our items we have selected to bring to market and that we are able to get a fair price so that we can pay for the stall fee. Unfortunately many times we struggle to cover the cost of the stall at the market due to very low sales and our very tight margins we put on our items.

Other items are priced based on the exact same items that is being sold elsewhere by other sellers online.

Question maybe asked. Isn’t your stall just a money making thing with 2nd hand items from home ? 

Answer. Many of our stall items are brand new directly from manufacturer / wholesaler, all paid for at a cost by us and to those who donated their items to our stall in the hope our stall succeeds in gaining sales.

Many items are directly from wholesalers without a middle man, so it would be directly from wholesaler to market with a little mark up in the hope to cover stall fee cost, and to raise some funds for the community outreach such as some of the things we have mentioned above, ( if we have a successful day at the market ), or by others who have donated their own personal items ( they have purchased in the past ) in the hope our stall succeeds.
